I was some kind of a child prodigy in my kindy in Tucson, and then I started school in Japan, and on term 2, they failed me in art. They failed a first grader!! Back in those days a fail was a fail and you couldn't make up and that's how I started my illustrious academic career. Successive art teachers thought I just didn't want to apply myself, and I hated art courses, until in 9th grade I did an etching of a bridge in Paris based on a postcard and the teacher gave me the highest mark in my grade.

But more importantly, it's my parents always saying, "Well, there is not a drop of visual art talent in this house, so don't feel bad if you don't do well in art;" that got us off the hock and made us hesitate anything artistic at once.

I would like to show Miss Maki who failed me what I do now!Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01350447919000146804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27254015.post-20086536355723415792008-06-19T16:03:00.000+12:002008-06-19T16:03:00.000+12:00I love your wire Ben. Dunno about drawing classes, I am permanently scarred by the "intro to watercolour" class that I took about 5 years ago where the teacher made everyone in the class show their work (hold it up)... but not me! Hilariously, he kind of glanced at my still-life onions and kinda hmphed and moved right along to the next person!! Super humiliating- kind of hysterical. I honestly didn't think they were *that* bad. I did not return for day 2 of the course.Tauerethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09411353775134604182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27254015.post-85080288751637191712008-06-19T12:38:00.000+12:002008-06-19T12:38:00.000+12:00Many years ago I studied figure drawing. Now that is really hard! Have fun!Peg in South Carolinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07886923838871937466noreply@blogger.com
