I guess, like anything, you have to try to sell with gusto if you want to sell a lot, Etsy included.Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01350447919000146804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27254015.post-88485264214890783602009-02-10T00:12:00.000+13:002009-02-10T00:12:00.000+13:00Actually, I disagree. I've seen a number of people who have things for sale online that are also sitting in galleries - but they're explicit in the listing that the item is also in a gallery.

I also had an Etsy shop. I never put much in it, and didn't sell anything. I keep thinking about trying again. It seems that one or two weavers do really well on Etsy, and the rest don't sell much at all.Geodynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05612024268485020748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27254015.post-49592200734204197342009-02-08T18:45:00.000+13:002009-02-08T18:45:00.000+13:00True, but if there are better platforms, I prefer ...True, but if there are better platforms, I prefer to go there for the same effort.

Now, I wonder if I have to have the pieces at home in order to put then on Etsy. Because it'd be unethical to try to flog off scarves already sitting in the galleries, wouldn't it, even though I don't get paid until the pieces are sold.Meghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01350447919000146804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27254015.post-59950620348233687682009-02-08T18:11:00.000+13:002009-02-08T18:11:00.000+13:00I've been considering setting up an Etsy shop for ...I've been considering setting up an Etsy shop for a year now. It is on my "to do" list again this year. I think it is worth a try. The worst that can happen is that you don't sell anything, and then you can cross it off your list of selling plans that don't work.Bonniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15875914944694059695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27254015.post-4965318398080951172009-02-08T15:18:00.000+13:002009-02-08T15:18:00.000+13:00Thanks for the info, KD. Marketing is a tricky business.

Maybe you have to get articles in fashion/design magazines or blogs, and then have a nice little online shop. Sometimes it's not a god thing to not want to be the center of the world.desireehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07747387260620893252noreply@blogger.com
