Ours died in the days of deepest lockdown, when the repair shop, and everywhere else, was closed, so we couldn't even ask whether it was fixable. I always dislike buying new appliances (I mean, you're essentially just re-buying something you already had a minute ago, never mind all the waste it creates) but this year half the things in the house seem to have keeled over. Of those things we can't repair ourselves, we've gone about 50/50 on replacements vs living with awkward workarounds.
