Saturday Daydreaming: My Etsy Store

Later in the year, I'm going to work towards opening my Etsy store. I want to make it lovely and inviting. Instead of weaving, I keep thinking of interiors of the stores I like to visit. Girly and cute, or sophisticated and understated??

  1. Oh, I was wondering there for moment where I had got. It was a bit unexpected!

  2. The top was a style shop that's been opened for a while but I just found last week. I'd love love love to do something like that on the wall with tiny chairs, but I don't have any wall space left in our place. The bottom is the cafe in the local public gallery, The Suter. Lovely cakes, best coffee in town if Callum is serving, and that's where I met Doni.

  3. And, yes, after meeting Doni and rereading her blog, it's as if my eyes are suddenly open to the styles she likes. Isn't it funny? I never noticed this store before I became subconsciously aware of Scandinavian styles, not the lamps at the cafe, even though sometimes I'm there twice or three times a week!

  4. That's grat about meeting intresting people, you do see new things!

And then, without even noticing, you have taken new steps.

  5. Yes, it is wonderful! And I used to think of Scandinavia as strictly Larssons, two of my favorite artists of all time. Meeting new friends make my horizon expand in more than one way.

  6. Definitely your store should look sophisticated!

Quiet elegant backgrounds against which your weaving will look either bold or subtle (depending on the colours) but either way stand out, appealing to be picked up and liberated by the discerning customer who says "that's what I want to wear...!"

  7. I will definitely hire you as my stylist/designer, Dorothy!

  8. i think your scarves are more sophisticated and understated in their personality, and your "brand essence" should drive your design of your online shop. but hey, maybe a girly bathroom would curb your appetite for pink and glitter and swirls?

  9. What a cute idea! Right now I am staying in my almost-four-year-old neice`s room surrounded by pink, yellow-green, and cute shoes motifs!
