Familiar

Yesterday morning I sampled my most familiar 110/2 (near 2/16 or 2/17) merino yarn with the same yarn, same sized wool, Possum/Merino/Silk, (yes, PMS!), and Merino/Mohair. These are the combinations I used almost exclusively very early on in my so called "career". They felt, literally, friendly and familiar. Once I started weaving, however, I realized I'd forgotten the right amount of tension, and the right amount of bang of the beater, and I head to relearn.

Still, the PMS shrinks beautifully, and MM needs a hard bang, it squashes the design, but has the beautiful sheen.

Today I hope to alter a couple of drafts, and start weaving one. But first, I must decide the weft.

(Speaking of the not familiar, as my camera is still in the hospital, I had to use Ben's old Canon, our very first digital, and I'd forgotten how to turn it on, or to upload. I can't wait for my camera to come home!)
