I'm Sitting In The Corner Staring At The Wall

Can you believe I had an invalid email address on the very first (home) page of my web site, immediately following "For catering purposes, if you are interested, please contact me at", for the last several months, and went on to copy it and emailed it to several organizations? A highly respected senior weaver had to ring me up to let me know!!!! I have no word for it. Careless is too... kind.

In unison, people: "A M A T E U R !!!"

Later I found out I asked the newspaper to put the announcement about my Exhibit(ion) in their late Feb/mid March issues; it takes place late Jan/mid Feb. What do I need now? A stiff drink? a shot in the arm? or brain transplant.

It happens in the best of circles Meg and you are organising this big event on your own - no proof reader to pick up blips.

Thank you, Dianne, but seriously, I am an innately careless person. I'm a bad typist and speller to begin with, but when I write something, I know what should be there, so I don't see what's really there. And I transpose numbers, too. I think I'm a bit more in a panic that I am admitting, or tired. Or excited. At least I'm in denial, and that's not a bad thing.

My daughter gave me a book several years ago, called "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff -- and It's All Small Stuff". When I make dumb mistakes, I try to remember this advice -- but I realize how hard it is to accept one's own short comings. Hang in there -- and a stiff drink never hurt anyone:-)

Thanks, Beryl. To tell you the truth, I'm a bit worried that I'm NOT sweating the small stuff. I've been able to concentrate on the stuff going into the gallery, but I wonder if I'm forgetting something really big. AND I should know better - I should know to check and recheck anything I type. Always.
